Medical Gas Verification

Hospital Gas System Certification

Hospital Gas System Certification

What do medical gas verifiers do? They ensure that medical gas installations have been completed per NFPA 99 codes and are safe prior to patient use. The third-party ASSE (American Society of Sanitary Engineering) 6030 verifiers use the latest technology, calibrated testing instruments to assure accurate results.

Verifiers inspect the following components for proper installation and functioning as well as code compliance:

  • New piping work
  • Affected Existing piping
  • Alarm panels
  • Valves
  • Gas outlets and inlets
  • … and other equipment

Gas System Verification Expertise

Evergreen Medical Services offers our customers the benefits of our verifiers’ experience and training. We performed nearly 500 medical gas verification tests in 2018, each one with different challenges that we've met with flying colors. Among our verifiers are five ASSE 6035 Medical Gas Bulk Verifiers who inspect and verify medical gas systems supplied by a bulk oxygen gas source, meeting a new code requirement. When you work with us, you are assured compliance with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) code guidelines as well as the state and local authorities that have jurisdiction over your facility.

Installation verifiers are required by code to have a minimum of two years of hospital gas system verification testing experience. In addition to providing the relevant experience, our company conducts annual training to (1) keep our verifiers up to date with new codes and standards, and (2) review proper testing procedures and techniques.

Evergreen Medical Services verifiers have earned certification for medical gas systems through the National Inspection Testing and Certification Corporation (NITC). NITC certification ensures that medical gas personnel practice their profession safely and reliably, and in accordance with industry best practices.

Successful candidates for Medical Gas Verifier certification are proficient and experienced in the installation, inspection and verification of medical gas and vacuum systems covered by the ASSE Series 6000 Standard.

Our Credentialed Medical Gas Verifiers are members of the Medical Gas Professional Healthcare Organization (MGPHO). Members are granted access to professional development and educational opportunities regarding state and federal standards as well as the latest testing and verification techniques.

We Offer Scheduling Flexibility

Evergreen Medical Services employs more than 20 verifiers, which means that our availability exceeds that of smaller companies. Your facility can schedule your medical gas system verification at your convenience, not on the availability of the company’s verifiers, so you get your medical gas systems back online faster while minimizing disruptions to patient care during construction or renovation. Medical gases cannot be administered to patients until systems are tested by a third-party ASSE 6030 verifier like Evergreen Medical Services.

Post-Testing Documentation and Reporting

After your medical gas system verification testing is complete, you will receive a report with detailed test results about the status of your systems’ components, alarms, outlet flow, vacuum system distribution, particulates and contaminants, manifolds, air sources, and everything else required by code. Our reports are designed to be easy to follow so you understand exactly how your medical gas systems are performing. Because it’s important to stay current, we also offer annual testing after your verification testing is complete.
