NFPA 99: Health Care Facilities Code, 2012 Edition
The 2012 edition of NFPA 99 has been completely revised to reflect a new risk-based position versus the previous occupancy-based approach. It is now the specific risk that a procedure may expose patients and staff to and not the setting where it is conducted that will define safety guidelines.
This edition has been significantly reorganized and given a new title, Health Care Facilities Code. The chapter on gas and vacuum systems has been notably updated, additional chapters have been added covering hyperbaric facilities, gas equipment, information technology, emergency management and more, including a section on maintenance of medical gas systems.
An excellent document to have “on-the-job”.
